The Volvo is our own project car and the one that the idea of DCT Shifter started with in 2018. Got the car back in 2010 and started off with a Bmw M50 turbo engine with a 5 speed manual. Later on it got a Volvo 5cyl with a big turbo and a 5 speed manual. As it was a bit laggy we started to look around for alternatives for gearboxes. Always wanted a real sequential gearbox but they were way out of our league economically. Decided to go with a DCT gearbox as there was aftermarket controllers out there controlling them. Got some ideas how to get the right feeling of a shifter and tried it out. Later on, more and more people started to do the same gearbox swaps and were also looking at a additional shifter with “sequential” feeling. Thats where we saw a hole in the market and started building small batches of shifters to sell. The Volvo has been acting as a test car for our products since then.
